Bahrain's Ambassador Houda Nonoo congratulated US Ambassador Barbara Leaf on being tapped by the Biden administration. In the tweet the former Bahrain Ambassador to the US congratulated Leaf, who is a former ambassador to the UAE.
Nonoo is currently holding a position with Bahrain's Foreign Ministry. She previously served as the Ambassador of Bahrain to the United States and non-resident Ambassador to Canada, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. She wrote "Congratulations Ambassador Barbara Leaf on your appointment as special assistant to President Joe Biden and as Senior Director for Middle East and North Africa affairs on the White House National Security Council. I enjoyed working with Barbara during my time in DC; she brings tremendous experience and knowledge to the position."
Leaf is a Senior Fellow The Washington Institute for Near East Policy. She was formerly ambassador to the UAE. She is one of many veteran diplomats that the Biden administration is tapping. Brett McGurk, a former US anti-ISIS envoy, will play a key role on Middle East Affairs as well. Nonoo has been more active on twitter in recent weeks.
